Safe trading tips
Most scams follow the same pattern: pressure to hurry, and a request to pay before seeing the item. These simple rules protect you.
For buyers
- Inspect the item yourself before paying anything.
- Never send a deposit or shipping fee to someone you have not met.
- Meet in a busy public place, preferably in daylight and with someone.
- For cars: have it checked at an approved inspection centre and verify the papers before paying.
For sellers
- Never share verification codes (OTP) or card details with a buyer. Nobody needs them to pay you.
- Make sure the money has actually arrived before handing over the item.
- Beware of a “buyer” who overpays and asks you to send back the difference.
